Indian cricket team won the T20I series against New Zealand in style. It was a thrilling match at Hamilton which India pulled off with a very small margin. The game was into the super over to finalize the winner and India's Rohit Sharma turned out to be the star in a crunch situation.
Earlier, New Zealand failed to chase down 180 in 20 overs despite having good command in the game during the last five overs of the match. It was Mohammad Shami who defended 9 runs off the last over and tied the game.
In super over, Kiwis smashed Jasprit Bumrah for 17 runs and India needed 18 to win, which is a big ask. Till the first four deliveries, everything went right for New Zealand, but in last balls when India needed 10 to win, Rohit launched a couple of back-to-back sixes against Tim Southee to seal the game.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli was delighted with the finish by his deputy, Rohit. He was awarded Man of the Match for his performance with the bat. In the first innings, Rohit had scored 65 runs.
India is now 3-0 ahead in the series and they will be eyeing a clean sweep against Kiwis.
