NZ v IND 2020: WATCH - Rohit Sharma takes a splendid catch at the boundary

Sharma showed good presence of mind to make sure the batsman gets dismissed.

India's limited-overs captain Rohit Sharma pulled off a remarkable catch on boundary against New Zealand in the first T20I. They were struggling to break the home team's first wicket partnership which lasted till 8th over. The pair of Martin Guptill and Colin Munro produced a solid opening stand of 80 runs.

Guptill, who was batting on 30, tried to clear another one over the ropes but got hold out by Rohit at deep square leg. The India fielder showed good composure to keep the ball inside the playing area. Rohit made sure the ball doesn't stay in his contact in case he gets carried over the boundary.

New Zealand scored 203/5 in the first innings. Ross Taylor scored an unbeaten 54 off 27 balls after opener Munro's 42-ball 59 runs innings. Skipper Kane Williamson also contributed to the big total. He scored with a strike rate of 196.15 to add 26-ball 51. 

Rohit couldn't back his catch with a good batting performance. He got out scoring just 7 runs off 6 balls which included a six.
