Indian team will be travelling to the New Zealand for a full tour for the first time since 2014-15. The tour will see India playing 5 T20Is, 3 ODIs and 2 Test matches against the Kiwis, with the tour starting from January 24th. The three ODIs will be played on Feb 5 in Hamilton, 8th Feb in Auckland and 11th Feb in Mount Maunganui respectively.

The two teams had met in a five-match ODI series in 2019 before the World Cup last year and the Men in Blue had triumphed dominantly apart from just one blip. Meanwhile, the Kiwis were the team which defeated India and eliminated them from the ICC event a few months after. Though the series will be sandwiched between five T20Is and 2 Test matches, it will prove to an attraction for the viewers, who love the rivalry between the two sides.

The BCCI announced the Indian team squad for the 3-match series. The squad sees the same names as the team that defeated Australia 2-1 recently at home, with the exception of Shikhar Dhawan who has been ruled out due to a shoulder injury with Prithvi Shaw named as his replacement.

"An MRI of his shoulder was conducted, and the results have confirmed a grade II injury of his acromio-clavicular joint. His hand will be in a sling and he has been advised rest for some time. He will start his active rehab management in the first week of February at the National Cricket Academy." said the BCCI in a statement.

India’s ODI squad: Virat Kohli (C), Rohit Sharma (VC), Prithvi Shaw, KL Rahul (WK), Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant (WK), Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Navdeep Saini, Shardul Thakur, Kedar Jadhav.
