India suffered their worst ever T20I defeat at the hands of New Zealand as they lost the first T20I by 80 runs at Westpac Stadium, Wellington.
Rohit Sharma had won the toss and asked New Zealand to bat first and their openers gave a great start of 86 runs in just 8 overs. Krunal Pandya broke this partnership but wicket-keeper batsman Tim Seifert kept smashing all Indian bowlers and played an awesome knock of 84 runs and set the platform for a big score.
In the end, Ross Taylor, Kane Williamson, Scot Kuggeleijn's cameo helped New Zealand to post a big total 219/6.
