NZ v IND 2022: WATCH- Chahal, Samson, Sodhi engage in foot volleyball as rain pours in Wellington before 1st T20I

The first T20I between New Zealand and India is to be played in Wellington.

Both teams are looking forward to rebooting and refreshing their T20I setups after losing their respective semi-finals in the recent T20 World Cup 2022 to Pakistan and England.

While New Zealand is playing more or less the same squad that played in the T20 World Cup, India has gone a different route.

Hardik Pandya has been named the captain in T20Is as seniors KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli were all rested for this tour. Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Umran Malik, and a couple of other youngsters have gotten a chance to showcase their talent and stake claim to spots in the India XI going forward.

Unfortunately, rain played spoilsport, and cricketers from both teams had to remain indoors waiting for the showers to cease and toss to happen.

In meantime, players from both sides decided to play foot volleyball and a video shared by BCCI showed Yuzvendra Chahal, Ish Sodhi, and Sanju Samson teaming up against Tim Southee, Michael Bracewell, and NZ physio Tommy Simsek.
