All No Objection Certificates (NOCs) that let their players participate in foreign T20 leagues have been unexpectedly reported suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

This ruling affects major events, including The Hundred, Vitality T20 Blast, the Big Bash League (BBL), and the ILT20, where Pakistani players were contracted or shortlisted.

The suspension came the day after India's five-wicket thumping of Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final in Dubai. Even though the PCB hasn't given a formal explanation, it is widely believed that the organization wants its players to prioritize domestic cricket and national obligations over overseas league commitments.

On September 29, PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmad Syed issued an order suspending all NOCs until additional instructions were given, with the approval of Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

This sudden decision has left players and their reps uncertain about their future participation in international franchise events.

"With the approval of Chairman PCB, all No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for players with respect to participation in leagues and other out-of-country tournaments are hereby put on hold until further orders," ESPNCricinfo quoted the notice, mentioning under-fire PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi.

It is believed that this decision is made in part to guarantee that the national team stars are still accessible for domestic competition, even though more information regarding the suspension is still pending. This includes the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Pakistan's top domestic first-class competition, which is scheduled to start in October.

High-profile players like Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi are expected to compete in the Australian Big Bash League, and the seven players who were recruited by the BBL teams are waiting for the final decision to come.

Additionally, 16 players from Pakistan have registered for the ILT20 auction. Up to 18 players, including Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, and Naseem Shah, were shortlisted for the October 1 ILT20 auction in the UAE.
