The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), on September 23, 2025, announced a 16-man England squad for the Ashes 2025-26 series. The Ashes series is set to begin in Australia on November 21.
The first Test of the Ashes series will be played at the Optus Perth stadium from November 21. The second test will begin on December 4 at the Gabba, Brisbane, while the 3rd test will be played in Adelaide from December 17 onwards.
The fourth Test will be played from December 25 in Melbourne, and the fifth and final Test will be played from January 3 in Sydney.
Ben Stokes leads the 16-man strong England squad for the Ashes with the noticeable change of Harry Brook replacing Ollie Pope as the England Test vice-captain. Pope has been included in the England squad that also sees Jacob Bethell, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, and Joe Root in the batting lineup. Jamie Smith will be the wicketkeeper for England.
Shoaib Bashir was also named in the spin department, along with Will Jacks and Bethell. Brydon Carse, Matthew Potts, Mark Wood, Gus Atkinson, Jofra Archer, and Josh Tongue will form the pace department.
Chris Woakes missed the Ashes flight due to his shoulder injury sustained in the Oval Test against India.
