India Test skipper Shubman Gill is set to lead 15-member North Zone squad in the Duleep Trophy, but it doesn’t rule out his selection for the Men’s Asia Cup 2025.
The Duleep Trophy is slated to get underway on August 28 in Bengaluru, while the Asia Cup will be played in the T20I format from September 9 to 28.
The North Zone selectors have made it clear that of Shubman Gill, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana or any of them are included in the Indian team for the Asia Cup, they will be replaced by Subham Rohilla (Services), Gurnoor Brar (Punjab) and Anuj Thakral (Haryana), respectively.
Besides the aforementioned replacements, the North Zone selectors have also named seven standbys.
The Duleep Trophy will be played in its traditional zonal format this season, with state selectors from each region picking their respective squads.
