Danish Kaneria, a former cricket player for Pakistan, has criticized Shahid Afridi for his remarks regarding this week's terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. On social media, a video of Afridi making ludicrous statements about the attack that killed 26 civilians has been making the rounds.
Afridi made baseless accusations and questioned the attack. In an interview with Pakistani media, Afridi questioned the Indian army and requested evidence of his nation's role in the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
“The terrorists kept killing there for an hour. No one from the 8 lakh strong Indian army in Kashmir arrived. When they reached the spot, within 10 minutes they blamed Pakistan. Indians themselves keep making blunders. They themselves get people killed and then themselves upload their videos and say that they are alive,” Afridi stated at an event.
“Pakistan always wants peace. Our religion-Islam, gives the message of peace. We keep getting threats from India. We don’t even know whether we will go to play in India or not. Your Kabaddi team comes to Pakistan, but not the cricket team. So if you want to do it, stop it completely or else don’t do it,” he added.

Kaneria, who criticized Afridi for his radical beliefs, said that in addition to refusing to eat with him, the former Pakistan captain attempted to convert him to Islam.
“He has consistently aligned himself with extremist views. In my opinion, he should not be given a platform on Indian television or within the country. Additionally, he tried to persuade me to convert to Islam and declined to share a meal with me, which I found deeply disrespectful," Kaneria posted, while quoting Afridi’s rant.
Following the attack, the Indian government banned several Pakistani YouTube channels for "disseminating false and misleading narratives, misinformation against India, its Army, and security agencies, as well as provocative and communally sensitive content."
Former Pakistani cricket player Shoaib Akhtar's 100mph and Basit Ali's BasitAliShow are two of the channels that have been prohibited.
