Jasprit Bumrah's outstanding performance against Australia in Perth earned him a new career-best rating and reclaimed his position as the top-ranked bowler in the latest ICC Men's Test Bowler Rankings.

On the other hand, India hitters Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli, who both scored hundreds in the Perth Test, advanced significantly in the ICC Test Batting rankings.

Jasprit Bumrah took 8 wickets against Australia in Perth including a five-wicket haul in India’s Perth Test win. He was named the Player of the Match as well, as he led India to a 295-run win.

This helped him gain two spots and reclaim the no.1 Test bowler spot from South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada. Bumrah first rose to the top in February this year on the back of a nine-wicket haul against England and briefly returned to the premier position in October following some decent efforts against Bangladesh.

Mohammed Siraj improved three places to 25th on the list for Test bowlers following his five scalps against the Aussies in Perth.

Coming to ICC Test batting rankings, Joe Root continues to hold put at the no.1 rank but has a new challenger in India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal smashed 161 in the second innings following his first-innings duck in his first Test in Australia.

This knock helped him move to the no.2 spot in the ICC Test batting rankings, also gaining a new career-best rating of 825, 78 rating points behind Root.

Australia left-hander Travis Head improved three places to move to 10th following his innings of 89 in Perth, while senior India batter Virat Kohli improved nine spots to 13th following his 30th Test century.

India duo Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin remain in the top two rankings for Test all-rounders despite neither featuring against Australia in that opening Test.
