India pacer Mohammed Siraj talked about bowling to Marnus Labuschagne during the first Test of the BGT 2024 (Border-Gavaskar Trophy) that was played in Perth. India won the Test by 295 runs, going 1-0 up in the five-Test series.

Australia batter Marnus Labuschagne has had a disastrous start to the Border Gavaskar Trophy, scoring only five runs in the first two innings of the Perth Test. And India pacer Mohammed Siraj says the Australian is merely trying to be confident when in reality he is clueless.

Siraj dismissed Labuschagne lbw for 2 in Australia's first innings, which struggled against Jasprit Bumrah and were bowled out on 104. Bumrah claimed five wickets in the innings, and the hosts lost the opportunity to take the lead after dismissing India for 150 on the first day.

Then thanks to centuries by Yashasvi Jaiswal (161) and Virat Kohli (100 not out) and KL Rahul’s 77, India posted 487/6d in their second innings, setting Australia 534 runs to win the match. Bumrah and Siraj picked three wickets each as Australia was bowled out for 238 runs and lost the Test by 295 runs.

"Boht maza aaya...apna confidence toh high rehta hai hamesha (enjoyed a lot, my confidence is always high),. Marnus ke saath boht achha raha, kyunki woh itna pressure mei khel raha hai abhi (enjoyed bowling to Marnus because he is playing under immense pressure),” Siraj said on Star Sports.

Siraj explained the confused state of Labuschagne as bowling legend Wasim Akram and former India allrounder and coach Ravi Shastri listened to him.

"He is trying to leave the ball as much as possible, not to play it. He's trying to show that he is confident, but he is not. He is under a lot of pressure," said Siraj.

India will next play a two-day day-night practice game against Prime Minister's XI, starting December 30 in Canberra, to prepare for the pink-ball Test in Adelaide, which begins on December 6.
