Basit Ali, the former Pakistan cricketer, has gone on a serious rant on the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) asking them to get their act together. He even referenced India legend Sourav Ganguly’s words on the poor state of Pakistan cricket and asked PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi to come good with his promises.

Pakistan suffered a humiliating Test series loss to Bangladesh months after being eliminated from the T20 World Cup 2024 group stages. The results have put a lot of pressure on Pakistan's players, who are being criticized by both fans and experts.  

He also cited similar comments expressed by Indian cricketers such as Sourav Ganguly and Ravichandran Ashwin to support his position on the subject. Ganguly and Ashwin have recently discussed Pakistan's recent decline in international cricket.

"Mohsin Naqvi, please open your eyes. You say that you will fix Pakistan's cricket, but it cannot happen like this. It is the bitter truth. People criticize me when I speak about Yasir Shah. Ravichandran Ashwin has said the same thing, expressing surprise over the dearth of spinners in Pakistan. I may be wrong, but is Ashwin also wrong? Even Sourav Ganguly spoke about how Pakistan cricket has deteriorated. The promises made to fix Pakistan's cricket are nothing but gimmicks," Basit Ali said on YouTube.

Meanwhile, Saeed Ajmal suggested that Pakistan and India play cricket matches in their respective countries, citing a strong bond between the two nations.

Pakistan last visited India in 2012/13 for a three-match T20I series and three ODIs. India last played in Pakistan in 2008, when the Asia Cup was hosted there. The two teams have not played a Test series since 2007.

"Even if the India versus Pakistan match happens on the moon, it will be huge. There is a lot of love between India and Pakistan and we must go to each other's countries," said Ajmal.

India and Pakistan are slated to clash in the Champions Trophy in 2025.
