PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi orders Pakistan officials not to comment on India’s participation in Champions Trophy 2025- Report

BCCI is yet to confirm Team India's travel to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025.

PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi and Champions Trophy | XMohsin Naqvi, PCB chief, has reportedly issued a gag order on his media and colleagues, asking them to refrain from commenting on India’s participation in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

According to recent reports, the PCB has given up on convincing the BCCI to bring the Indian team to Pakistan for the prestigious event next year. It now wants the ICC to handle the entire situation. To avoid undue controversy, Mohsin Naqvi has directed officials not to make any statements about India's stance.

Mohsin Naqvi simply wants to concentrate on preparation for the tournament, and he wants the ICC to handle the issue of convincing the BCCI. The article further indicated that the PCB expects India to visit Pakistan for the Champions Trophy next year.

That is why in recent days no comments or statement has come from either Naqvi or any other board official on what will happen if India doesn’t send its team to Pakistan. The PCB has sent the draft schedule and submitted all other documents including security plans for each team to the ICC now it is for the owners of the CT to convince India to send its team,” a PCB insider told PTI.

A venue inspection team from the ICC will visit Pakistan in September to conduct a final assessment of the three-match venues in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, and the PCB's top priority right now is to ensure refurbishment work on the three stadiums.

It is clear Naqvi doesn’t want to show the PCB’s cards on what will be the reaction of the board if India again refuses to send its team but behind closed doors, after meetings with the government officials a strategy has been finalized,” another source in Islamabad said.

India has not visited Pakistan since 2008 as the bilateral ties between the BCCI and PCB are suspended due to the political tension between the two nations.
