India skipper Rohit Sharma has dismissed the talks about his retirement from the game, saying that everyone would see him playing for a while.

Rohit led India to the T20 World Cup 2024 triumph last week. Following the title win, he announced his retirement from T20Is.

During an event in Dallas, Rohit on Sunday (July 14) was enquired about his full-fledged retirement from international cricket.

In reply, the Indian captain said he isn't someone who thinks a lot ahead but a lot is still left in his tank.

"I just said it. I don't do that far ahead. So clearly, you will be seeing me play for a while," Rohit said. His response received the loudest cheer from the crowd in Dallas at the event.

A few months ago, Rohit Sharma had categorically stated that he is planning to continue playing for a few more years and want to win the WTC and the World Cup with India.

"I haven't really thought about retirement. But, I don't know where life takes you. I am still playing well at this point in time - so I am thinking I am going to continue for a few more years and then, I don't know. I really want to win the World Cup and there is a WTC final in 2025, hopefully India makes it," he said.

Rohit Sharma will now shift his focus to ODIs and Tests with big assignments coming up in the next few months. The Indian captain might be rested for the ODI series against Sri Lanka later this month.
