Virat Kohli, the star India batter, is topping charts even off the field. Kohli regained his top position on the list of most valued celebrities. The former India captain has eclipsed the likes of Bollywood superstars Ranveer Singh and Shah Rukh Khan.
Kohli has extended his reign as India's most prized star, increasing his overall brand worth by over 29% this year. He had a terrific IPL 2024 season. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batsman scored 741 runs in the competition, including a century and five fifties, and won the Orange Cap.
Kohli also topped the ODI World Cup batting records last year. The 35-year-old broke numerous batting records when India played the World Cup final in 2023. He broke the record for most runs in one World Cup edition with 765 runs with 3 centuries and 6 fifties to his name. Kohli also broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record for most centuries in ODIs, scoring his 50th ton in the format in the semi-final of the tournament.
The batting legend received the ICC ODI Player of the Year title and was also named to the ICC Men's ODI Team of the Year.
According to consultancy firm Kroll, Kohli had a brand value of USD 227.9 million in 2023. The talismanic batter of the Indian team reached new heights with a brand value of USD 237.7 million back in 2020.
Kohli remained head and shoulders above Ranveer, who sealed the second spot with a brand value of USD 203.1 million. As per Celebrity Brand Valuation Report 2023, celebrated actor Shah Rukh secured the third spot with a total brand value of USD 120.7 million in 2023.
Meanwhile MS Dhoni climbed one spot on the list with a brand value of USD 95.8 million. Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar was placed eighth on the list with a brand value of USD 91.3 million.
