India veterans Dinesh Karthik and Shikhar Dhawan starred in their team DY Patil Blue’s brilliant win over RBI in the ongoing DY Patil T20 Cup on Friday, March 1, 2024.

RBI was knocked out for just 112 after they had opted to bat first against DY Patil Blue. This despite an opening stand worth 45 between Sumit Ghadigaonkar and Pranay Sharma. The chief wicket-takers for Blue were Pariskshit Valsangkar (4-15) and Karsh Kothari (3-12).

Then Shikhar Dhawan (45* in 29 balls) and Dinesh Karthik (36* in 21 balls) formed an unbeaten second-wicket partnership in the chase as the DYP Blue chased down the target in just 10.5 overs to finish on 113 for one.

In an afternoon match, CAG outclassed Nirlon Sports Club by seven wickets in a low-scoring encounter at the DY Patil University Ground. Nirlon could only muster 98 runs with Jayesh Porkar scoring 38*. Sanveer Singh (4-25) and Writwick Chatterjee (3-25) starred with the bat for CAG. In their response, CAG chased down the paltry score in just 8.3 overs to finish on 99 for three. 

India’s U19 World Cup team all-rounder Arshin Kulkarni made 84 off 52 balls with 11 boundaries and two sixes. He also picked up 1-22 in his three overs, as his team Jain Irrigation defeated BPCL at the DY Patil University Ground by 7 wickets.
