India U-19 batter Musheer Khan continued his rich vein of form in the ongoing Youth World Cup as he slammed a stunning hundred against New Zealand U-19 in Bloemfontein on Tuesday (January 30).

Musheer, the younger brother of prolific Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan, came into this match on the back of a superb century (118) against Ireland and a steady knock of 73 versus USA.

The right-hander took his batting a notch higher in the Super Six match against New Zealand U-19, scoring 131 off 126 balls to propel India U-19 to 295/8 in 50 overs. His knock was studded with 13 fours and 3 sixes.

With this knock, Musheer also became the second Indian batter after Shikhar Dhawan to hit two or more centuries in a single edition of the U-19 World Cup. Dhawan owns the record of smashing three hundreds in the 2004 edition of the Youth World Cup.

World No.1 T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav was delighted about Musheer Khan’s sensational knock against New Zealand.

Taking to Instagram, Suryakumar congratulated Musheer and motivated the Boys in Blue to keep going.

"What a knock. Happy dugout. Keep going Boyzz," Surya wrote on his Instagram story.

Sarfaraz Khan also shared the Indian cricket team’s post about his brother on Instagram story. He also added the ‘Parwah Nahin’ song from the famous Bollywood movie ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’.

Coming to the match, India U-19 registered a thumping 214-run victory over New Zealand U-19 to stay unbeaten in the tournament.

Chasing 296 to win, New Zealand’s innings folded for 81 in 28.1 overs. It was a listless batting performance as no one managed to touch the 20-run mark.

Saumy Pandey starred with the ball for U-19, returning with the figures of 4/19 in his 10 overs. Musheer also rounded off a great day with couple of wickets and won the Player-of-the-Match award.
