Australia opener David Warner, who recently retired from Test and ODIs, has revealed that he will release his autobiography with a promise that it will raise many eyeballs.
In an interview with Adam Gilchrist and former England captain Michael Vaughan on their Prairie Club Fire podcast, Warner said his book will be an “interesting read.”
“There’s one in the pipeline and I think it’ll be an interesting read. There’s going to be a lot of things in that book that I think are going to raise some eyebrows. I’ll have to edit a few chapters now, there are a few more that have been added. It was 1500 pages, now it’s probably 2000,” Warner said.
Warner has also announced that the sandpaper-gate controversy will be well documented in his book. The controversy happened in 2018 during the Cape Town Test between Australia and South Africa.
Cameron Bancroft was caught by cameras using sandpaper on the ball and later Cricket Australia investigation unveiled that it was David Warner's idea and then captain Steve Smith knew the about same.

Warner lost his vice-captaincy and along with Steve Smith was banned for one year, while Bancroft was given a suspension of 9 months.
“It’s something that’s been thought of. I think you look down the track now, where we are today, it is in the past and it does keep getting brought up. There has been a lot of speculation, and a lot of comments about it – but from me, it’s about this team moving forward. It’s really important that the Australian cricket team is in a great space, that we’re playing well in all three formats, and I think that’s the utmost priority,” Warner said.
“My side of the story and all that, that can be told whenever. There are probably going to be some things that are in the book that are definitely going to be related to 2018. It’s not potentially going to be around what I know, what others know, because then it just becomes a tit-for-tat, right?
It’s not that kind of story. I want it to be about my journey, my upbringing, and there are going to be a few things in there — you’ve got the Joe Root saga, when I went back to Zimbabwe, there were so many things in there, a lot of stories in there. It’ll be an interesting read when the time comes, we can all pick it to pieces,” Warner added.
David Warner will next be seen in action in ILT20 where he will captain the Dubai Capitals franchise.
