Abhimanyu Easwaran to lead India ‘A’ against England Lions; KS Bharat also included in the squad

BCCI announced India ‘A’ squad for a two-day warm-up fixture and the first multi-day game against England Lions.

Abhimanyu Easwaran has been named captain of the India A team | GettyThe BCCI on Saturday (January 6) announced a 13-member India ‘A’ squad for a two-day warm-up fixture and the first of the three four-day matches against England Lions.

India will play four red-ball matches against England Lions in Ahmedabad between January 12 and February 4.

The series coincides with the beginning of the senior Indian team's five-match Test series against England, slated to get underway on January 25 in Hyderabad.

Bengal opener Abhimanyu Easwaran will lead India ‘A’ in the warm-up fixture and the first multi-day match.

The squad also includes top performers of domestic cricket like Sai Sudharsan, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan among others.

KS Bharat, who has already played five Tests for India, features in the India ‘A’ squad as a designated wicketkeeper-batter.

Navdeep Saini will lead the India ‘A’ pace attack, also featuring Tushar Deshpande and Akash Deep.
