MS Dhoni registers criminal case against former business partners over alleged fraud worth Rs 15 crore: Report

The case has been filed in Ranchi court regarding a business deal.

MS Dhoni | BCCI-IPLLegendary India skipper MS Dhoni has lodged a criminal case against two Aarka Sports Management officials named Soumya Vishwash and Mihir Diwakar. The case has been filed in Ranchi court regarding a business deal.

In 2017, Diwakar allegedly signed an agreement with Dhoni to establish a Cricket academy globally. He did not comply with the terms that were mentioned in the agreement.

According to a report published in Business Today, Aarka Sports failed to pay a franchise fee. Moreover, the share profits as per the terms of the agreement were allegedly not honoured.

Despite multiple reminders and legal notices, Aarka Sports reportedly showed negligence to honour the deal, prompting Dhoni to revoke the authority letter granted to the firm on August 15th, 2021.

Dhoni's close associate Simant Lohani has separately filed a complaint, claiming to have received threats and abuse from Diwakar after their legal action against Aarka Sports, India Today reported.

Dhoni’s lawyer, Advocate Dayanand Singh of Vidhi Associates, alleged that they were deceived and cheated by Aarka Sports, which led to a loss exceeding Rs 15 crore.

Talking about MS Dhoni, he may have retired from international cricket in 2020 but his popularity hasn’t dipped a bit. He now only plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and led the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to record-equalling fifth title earlier this year.

Dhoni will return to action during the 2024 edition of IPL. He underwent a knee surgery soon after the completion of the IPL 2023 season and has made a good recovery so far.
