Just like any other year, the Indian cricket team’s calendar is a jam-packed one in 2024. Due to the large fan base, it rarely happens that the Indian players are not on the road for a series or a tournament.
Last year, the men’s cricket team won the Asia Cup title and also played the World Test Championship and the World Cup finals. They also clinched gold medal in the Hangzhou Asian Games alongside their female counterparts.
The men’s team will kick-off 2024 with the second Test of the South African tour in Cape Town. On the other hand, the women’s side will play their first match against Australia, which is the third and final ODI in Mumbai.
In 2024, the Men in Blue will look to end the long-standing ICC trophy drought by winning the T20 World Cup, slated to be held in the West Indies and USA in June. Notably, India haven’t won a global tournament since 2013.
The Indian men’s team will also be playing a five-match Test series against England and Australia in 2024.
Talking about the women’s team, they will be competing against Australia in a three-match T20I series and later a three-match ODI series away from home. Harmanpreet Kaur and her troops will also be featuring in the Women’s T20 World Cup that will be hosted by Bangladesh in September.
