Former Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson has yet again hit the headlines, and this time he has targeted Cricket Australia (CA) over the board’s invitation for an award ceremony.

Johnson was recently in the news for his explosive remarks about David Warner. In his column for The West Australian, the former pacer questioned Warner’s place in the Test team.

Johnson wrote, “Why a struggling Test opener gets to nominate his retirement date. And why does a player at the center of one of the biggest scandals in Australian cricket history warrant a hero’s send-off?”

His statement created a controversy, resulting in Cricket Australia (CA) canceling two of his speaking engagements during the first Test between Australia and Pakistan in Perth.

Johnson recently got invited to the Australian Cricket Awards 2024 by CA. However, he didn't seem too thrilled about it. He took to Instagram to criticize CA for inviting him to celebrate them, questioning their sincerity in sending the invitation.

Johnson pointed out that they had disrupted his speaking engagements during the ongoing Test series against Pakistan, and now how can they invite him to the award ceremony?

Sharing the screenshot of CA’s invitation on his Instagram story, Johnson wrote: “Is Cricket Australia serious?? Last week I was cancelled from 2 speaking engagements. This week, I’m invited to celebrate with them.”
