PCB confirms that Naseem Shah is in final stage of his rehab after shoulder surgery

Naseem Shah was traded to Islamabad United recently ahead of PSL 2024 draft.

Naseem Shah | XThe Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) gave an update about pacer Naseem Shah’s ongoing rehab after undergoing shoulder surgery. This injury led to him missing a part of the Asia Cup 2023 and the entire ICC World Cup 2023.

PCB stated that Naseem has begun the ‘final stage’ of his rehabilitation process. He is currently undergoing rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore, under the care of a strength and conditioning coach, a physiotherapist, and a doctor.

Naseem has also started doing light gym exercises and partial bowling practice so far. The board’s press release added that he will start batting from Thursday.

Naseem had to undergo surgery in the UK after suffering a shoulder injury in the Asia Cup. After the surgery, Naseem remained in the UK for two months for rehabilitation and initial training, where he received continuous care from a team of expert medical staff.

His absence from the Pakistan team during the recent Cricket World Cup was a setback for the team. Along with Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf, he was a key element of Pakistan's think tank's preparations for a fast-bowling troika.
