Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra had attended the recent ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, but he was not shown on the giant screen or television by the broadcasters.

Notably, Team India's great campaign in the World Cup came to a heartbreaking end, as the Australians proved to be too good to clinch their sixth title by defeating the hosts by six wickets in the final of the ICC World Cup 2023 in Ahmedabad.

A lot of celebrities were in attendance at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium, from Bollywood to politics and the sports world, and they were all shown on the TV and the giant screen by the broadcasters from time to time.

However, Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra was not featured on either on the TV or on the giant screen during the WTC 2023 final, and when he was asked about the same, he gave a perfect response.

Chopra said that he wasn't concerned about the camera and suggested that broadcasters should focus on showcasing events like the Diamond League more effectively than celebrities.

Neeraj Chopra was quoted as saying by the Indian Express: “I want them to show me when I compete. When I participate in the Diamond League they don't telecast it properly. Woh cheez hai asli(that's the real deal). At that time, they only show highlights.”

He added, “I went to Ahmedabad just to watch the match and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would have obviously enjoyed it more had India won, but I had a good time in the stands. I never wanted the camera to pan towards me, that thought didn't even cross my head.”

Neeraj also revealed that he can do both batting and bowling well, but he prefers to do bhatta (throwing) style of bowling.

He signed off by saying, “I can bat well. I can also bowl some good bhatta (throw) balls if asked to.”
