WATCH: Sai Kishore breaks down in tears during India’s national anthem at Hangzhou Asian Games

Sai Kishore made his India debut in the Asian Games quarterfinal match against Nepal.

Sai Kishore | ScreengrabLeft-arm spinner Sai Kishore couldn’t hold back his tears when India’s national anthem took place ahead of the Men’s Cricket quarterfinal match against Nepal at the Hangzhou Asian Games on Tuesday (October 3).

The 26-year-old was making his debut for the national side and he got all emotional while standing with his teammates for the national anthem.

A video of Kishore is doing rounds on social media, showing the emotions that he was running through and what the occasion meant for him.

It turned out to be a memorable debut match for Sai Kishore as he took three wickets in the outfield and also returned with impressive bowling figures of 1 for 25 in his four overs.

Coming to the match, India defeated Nepal by 23 runs to secure a place in the semi-final. Riding on his Yashasvi Jaiswal’s century (100 off 49 balls) and handy cameos from Rinku Singh (37* off 15) and Shivam Dube (25* off 19), India piled up a mammoth 202/4 on the board.

Defending the total, Indian bowlers restricted Nepal to 179/9 to win the contest by 23 runs. Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi starred with the ball for India, claiming three wickets by conceding 24 runs in his four overs.
