WATCH: Virat Kohli's old revelation goes viral after Rohit Sharma forgets his passport at team hotel post Asia Cup triumph

Rohit became the talk of the town for a bizarre reason after the Asia Cup 2023 triumph.

Rohit Sharma led India to the Asia Cup 2023 title win | GettyIndia skipper Rohit Sharma is widely regarded as one of the most skilled batters in contemporary cricket. He has the ability to tear apart any bowling attack on his day.

Rohit holds quite a few world records to his name in white-ball cricket. He is the proud owner of the highest individual ODI score – 264 against Sri Lanka in 2014. Moreover, he is the only batter in world cricket to have hit three ODI double tons and four Twenty20 international centuries.

Fondly known as Hitman, Rohit Sharma is also known for his exceptional leadership skills. Under his captaincy, Mumbai Indians have won five IPL trophies while he led India to the Asia Cup 2023 title on Sunday (September 17).

After the Asia Cup triumph, however, Rohit became the talk of the town for a bizarre reason, something that Virat Kohli had revealed back in 2017.

Speaking on Gaurav Kapur’s YouTube show 'Breakfast with champions', Kohli had stated that Rohit has a habit of forgetting and misplacing things.

“The number of things Rohit Sharma forgets, I have never seen anyone else being this forgetful. iPad, wallet, phone, not the small things, but things for daily use. He (Rohit Sharma) has forgotten his passport two or three times. It was very hard to retrieve it," Kohli had said.

As it turned out, Rohit forgot his passport in the hotel in Colombo after winning the Asia Cup final on Sunday.

In a video going viral on the internet, Rohit can be seen looking tensed while standing at the entrance of the team bus, with Indian players already boarded. Later on, a support staff member reportedly brought the passport and gave it back to him.

Taking about the Asia Cup 2023 final, India thrashed Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in a lopsided affair to clinch the coveted trophy for the record-extending 8th time.

Riding on Mohammed Siraj’s six-wicket haul (6/21), the Men in Blue bundled out the hosts for a mere 50 in 15.2 overs after being asked to bowl first.

Chasing the paltry target, skipper Rohit Sharma didn’t come out to open the inning alongside Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan was sent instead. The duo of Gill (27*) and Kishan (23*) made light work of the chase to seal the deal in just 6.1 overs.
