BCCI loses blue tick verification on social media platform 'X' after obeying PM Modi’s appeal

The sudden missing of the blue tick left the fans shocked.

PM Modi urged the countrymen to change their display picture on social media platforms | TwitterBCCI’s account on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, lost its blue tick verification moments before the start of the fifth and final T20I against West Indies in Florida on Sunday (August 13).

The sudden missing of the blue tick left the fans shocked and they began wondering about the potential reasons behind the move.

Later on, netizens came to know that it was a result of the BCCI following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "unique" appeal.

As the entire nation is gearing up to celebrate the 77th Independence Day on August 15, the Indian PM urged the countrymen to join the '#HarGharTiranga movement' by changing their display picture on social media platforms to that of the Indian tri-colour.

"In the spirit of the #HarGharTiranga movement, let us change the DP of our social media accounts and extend support to this unique effort which will deepen the bond between our beloved country and us," PM Modi tweeted.

Just like a number of Indians, BCCI also changed the display picture and lost its blue tick verification in the process.

According to the revised guidelines of X, the blue tick will be removed for a verified user each time the display picture is changed.

BCCI is likely to regain the blue tick soon as it takes three to four days to restore after a quick review of the account.
