The Indian T20 league commences on the 31st of March with defending champions Gujarat locking horns with Chennai. There are 10 teams divided into 2 groups. Each team will play 2 games against every team in their group and 2 games against one team in another group and only 1 game with the rest of them. Captains can name the teams after the toss and substitute a player ( impact player rule ). A total of 70 league games will be played 2 qualifiers, one eliminator, and the Final. The Home and Away schedule is back after 4 long years. 

The rule allows a team to bring in an Impact Player at any point in an inning to replace a player from the XI after the toss.

Dependable Picks for Rario D3 Predictions 

Batter 1 & 2- Shane Watson ( OG batter 1) and Bhanuka Rajapaksa 

A top-order batter should be your blind pick in D3. OG batter 1 was the orange cap winner last year with 863 runs at an SR of 149. He hit 4 100s. He has been in superb form since the 2021 WC where he hit a 100 against SL. Then repeated his performance against Aus before the 2022 wc and obliterated India in the semis. No one has scored more runs than him at a better SR in PP since 2018. He was our pick in the 1st game and started his season with a quickfire 20 oddball 50. 

Bhanuka Rajapaksa was a revelation last year when he impressed all with his approach and strokeplay. He had a lion's share in SL winning the Asia Cup by scoring 190 runs at an SR of 140. His biggest strength is taking down any kind of spin. He is batting at 3 & scored runs in the opening game. 

Bowler 1 & 2- Trent Boult & Arshdeep Singh

We are spoilt for choices when it comes to Rajasthan’s bowling attack in D3.  Boult is a specialist Powerplay bowler. He holds the record for most wkts in a Powerplay in a season (16 in 2020). Since 2020 he has had the highest wkts in PP. He displayed a scintillating work of art against SRH’s top order by dismissing Abhishek and Rahul in the 1st over itself. 

Owing to his performance in death overs last season and the season before that, Arshdeep earned the national call and was India’s go-to bowler in the end overs in the t20 world cup. He has an eco of 8.7 in end overs in IPL with 20 wickets. He has added the short ball to his armory which proved to be quite effective against KKR.

Last 2 picks- Sam Curran and Shimron Hetmyer 

Curran should be a no-brainer in D3.  One of the finest all-rounders in the league. Sam Curran’s return to intl cricket after a long hiatus was nothing less than a dream. Since his comeback, he has scalped 26 wkts from 17 games and was MoM in the final as well as MoS in T20 WC. 

Hetmyer is one of the best finishers in T20 cricket at the moment. No has hit more sixes and scored more runs than him at a better SR in death overs since the 2020 season.

Dependable Picks for Rario D3 Predictions 

Batter 1 & 2- Faf du Plessis and Rahmanullah Gurbaz

Again going by the thumb rule, a top-order batter should be your blind pick in D3. Faf has been in some surreal form off late with 177 runs at an SR of 143 in BBL and became the 1st centurion in SA 20. He scored 369 runs at an average of 41 (2nd highest). He was the MoM in the opening game for his 73. 

Gurbaz showed a lot of promise in the 1st game with a couple of breathtaking hits and KKR would expect more from him for the rest of the season. Apart from being an explosive opener, Gurbaz is also a part-time wk. He has an SR of over 150 in the T20 format with over 3000 runs. Gurbaz had good outings in the recently held SPL, ILT20, and Abu Dhabi t10 leagues.

Bowler 1 & 2- Sunil Narine and Harshal Patel 

Sunil Narine should be your automatic choice and probably the 1st pick in D3.  He is arguably one of the greatest T20 bowlers with close to 500 wickets at an eco of 5.99.  Last season he had the best economy with 5,57. Moreover, he adds some value to the bat. Though his form has deteriorated and teams know exactly where to bowl him he can still cause considerable damage. He always had a brilliant record against RCB. 

Harshal showed a lot of promise in the 1st 3 overs but was taken for plenty in the last over. He can be very effective on Eden with big square boundaries and bowled beautifully against Lucknow in last year’s Eliminator on the same venue. 

Last 2 picks- Andre Russell and Glenn Maxwell 

This Caribbean all-rounder is a must-pick in your D3.  Andre Russell has been MVP twice and one can earn heavy points with his contribution with the bat and ball. He has an astonishing SR of 177 with over 2K runs. No one has scored more runs than him at a better SR. He also holds the record of hitting 50+ sixes in a season along with Gayle. He has pulled off games from unimaginable situations in the past and RCB was at the receiving end in 2019. 

No one has scored more runs than Maxwell since 2021 at a better SR. His bowling adds immense value and he is the most important cog in that middle order.
