PSL 2023: “This is pure frustration”- Ramiz Raja slams Wasim Akram for losing his temper after Karachi Kings’ loss

Karachi Kings have lost four of their five matches in ongoing PSL 2023.

Wasim Akram kicked the chair after Karachi Kings lost fourth match | PSLFormer PCB president Ramiz Raja has slammed Karachi Kings president Wasim Akram for showing frustration and kicking a sofa in dressing after his team lost yet another match in the ongoing PSL 2023 on Wednesday.

Karachi Kings captain Imad Wasim had won the toss and chose to field first. Rizwan got his first hundred in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and remained undefeated on 110, as Multan Sultans piled up 196/2 with Shan Masood (51) and Rilee Rossouw (29) also contributing to the total.

In response, Karachi Kings got off to a strong start thanks to Matthew Wade (20) and James Vince (75), who helped them reach 105/1 in the 10th over before Sultans applied pressure by taking wickets to get the equation to 40 runs from the final two overs.

Imad Wasim (46*) played brilliantly to reduce the target to 6 runs in 4 balls, but Abbas Afridi, who bowled the final over, only allowed 2 runs to be scored, and Kings lost by 3 runs.

Karachi now has lost 4 of their 5 matches, while Sultans have 4 wins from as many matches. This result led Wasim Akram, who is president of Karachi Kings, to kick a sofa in front of him in anger.

Ramiz Raja was not happy with a senior like Wasim Akram showing frustrations like that and said that it would not leave a good impression on the public as the clip went viral.

See, I've been the chairman of PCB. I know (if I were still there) I couldn't do anything from sitting outside. When you have selected a team, you have to back them. And then, you have to keep a cool mind and analyse the performance.

This is pure frustration. This doesn't look good. If you can't control your temperament, which is the most important thing in your position, it isn't good for public view,” Ramiz said on BOL Network.

Karachi Kings will once again face Multan Sultans, this time in Karachi on February 26 in a day match.
