The Prithvi Shaw selfie controversy has seen a new interesting twist as a woman, who is apparently an influencer, has alleged she was physically assaulted by Prithvi Shaw and her friends.

Sana, alias, Sapna Gill, one of the 8 people booked by the Oshiwara Police in Mumbai, alleged Prithvi Shaw was carrying a stick in hand when he and his friends assaulted her and her friends. Sapna Gill's lawyer, Ali Kashif Khan said the police were not allowing her to go for medical tests and was at the Oshiwara police station in Mumbai.

"Sapna was assaulted by Prithvi. A stick was seen in Prithvi's hand. Prithvi's friends assaulted the group first. Sapna is currently at Oshiwara police station. The police are not allowing her to go for medical," Ali Kashif was quoted as saying by India Today.

The Oshiwara police had booked 8 people including Sapna for attacking Prithvi Shaw and his friend’s car outside a 5-star hotel in Mumbai. The brawl happened after Sapna Gill and her friend Shobhit Thakur had approached Prithvi Shaw for selfies when the India cricketer was having dinner with his friend.

As per the police report, Shaw initially obliged with selfies, but then refused when Sapna approached with more requests, by saying that he had come to eat food with his friends and that he did not want to be disturbed. His friend then had to call the hotel manager to intervene and he removed Sapna and her friends from the premises.

When Prithvi and his friend came out of the hotel after their dinner, they saw the accused standing with baseball bats. His friend also wrote in his complaint that the group of people threatened to file false cases against Prithvi and his friends if they did not pay them Rs 50,000.
