“Rishabh Pant’s condition remains stable”- BCCI releases official statement

Pant was involved in a car accident near Roorkee while on his way to Dehradun to meet family.

Remains of Rishabh Pant's burned car | ANIThe BCCI has released an official statement on the recent event of the car crash in which star India cricketer Rishabh Pant was involved on December 30, 2022. The accident happened on the Delhi-Dehradun highway near Narsan, Roorkee where his car collided with the dividers and caught fire.

Luckily Pant was conscious and managed to escape the car by breaking the windshield before the car caught fire. Police then arrived and got him admitted to a local hospital in Roorkee for initial treatment and then the cricketer was shifted to Max Hospital in Dehradun for further treatment including X-Rays and MRI scans.

The BCCI, on December 30, 2022, released an official statement on Rishabh Pant and provided an update on his condition, including the list of injuries he suffered.

India wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant met with a car accident early on Friday morning near Roorkee, Uttarakhand. He was admitted to Saksham Hospital Multispecialty and Trauma Centre where he was treated for impact injuries.

Rishabh has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back. Rishabh’s condition remains stable, and he has now been shifted to Max Hospital, Dehradun, where he will undergo MRI scans to ascertain the extent of his injuries and formulate his further course of treatment.

The BCCI is in constant touch with Rishabh’s family while the Medical Team is in close contact with the doctors currently treating Rishabh. The Board will see to it that Rishabh receives the best possible medical care and gets all the support he needs to come out of this traumatic phase,” the BCCI statement read.

Pant was supposed to join a strength and conditioning program at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru after being rested for the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka in January.
