T20 WC: IND v ENG | Guide for D3.club
Match Details
Date: November 10, 2022
Venue: Adelaide Oval, Adelaide
Time: 6:30 pm LOCAL, 1:30 pm IST
Since last year’s WC debacle, India has played some outstanding, ruthless brand of cricket. In the past year, they have played 40 t20is and emerged victorious in 31 off them. They won 8 bilateral series as well in this period. The only failure that came their way was 2 back to back defeats against PAK & SL in the Asia cup. The middle order and death bowling, esp the 19th over were major concerns. India has done well on that part with Suryakumar Yadav in the form of his life but with the blow hot blow cold form of Hardik, Pant, and DK it is still a little concern.
ENG on the other hand has redeemed itself in the white ball format lately. They started the year losing to WI and then lost at home vs IND and SA. IND has been their Achilles heel since they have lost 7 out of 8 bilateral series since 2017. Coming into the WC, they beat PAK 4-3 and AUS 2-0 but have been a little shaky in the tournament so far. Their batting hasn’t lived up to the expectations it should have except for the game against NZ

Pitch Report:
According to reports, the pitch is going to be a used pitch and they are not rolling out a new surface. This will bring spinners into play and the side batting 1st has an advantage if we take a cue from the SA v NED game.
Dependable Picks
Virat Kohli
By the looks of it, Virat Kohli will win his 3rd man of the tournament award in t20 WCs this time. He has scored 8 50s in Australia in just 15 innings. His average in t20 WCs is in excess of the 80s. He is your go-to man to trust in the fantasy D3.club and will fetch you good points just like every time.
Suryakumar Yadav
The purple patch would be an understatement to describe Surya’s run of form in t20is. He is by far the best t20i batter at present. Since the start of the year, he has scored close to 750 runs at an SR of 180+. In his last 8 innings, he has scored 6 50s. Must pick in your d3.club
Alex Hales
He resumed his intl career with a bang in Pakistan and also made a quickfire 50 against Aus in bilateral but hadn’t made any mark in the tournament so far. He has come into his own league by scoring back-to-back 50s and gives ENG a solid start. Should prefer him ahead of Buttler since he has a very abysmal record against India and Bhuvi. Your preferred opener’s choice in d3.club
Differential Picks
Mark Wood
Almost every time he has played since returning from injury, whether it was in the
Pakistan series, Australia series, or World Cup, he has breathed fire. Since September,
he has picked 18 wkts in 7 games and is clocking 150+ every now and then. One thing
that goes against him is his H2H record against Batters like Virat Kohli
Sam Curran
He has picked 22 wkts in the last 12 games. Bowls at the death and is more than capable
to use the long handle in the end overs. He is a wkt taking the machine in death overs with
a good economy. A near to perfect candidate in any D3.club
Punter’s corner ( Risky Pick )
Hardik Pandya
Since his return from the injury, he has put up a brilliant case for being one of the finest all-rounders in the t20 format. With captaincy and leading his IPL team to a title victory, he has emerged as a more mature player. 487 runs in the 2022 IPL and a Man of the match performance in the final with the ball. Over 550 runs at an SR of 145 in the last 24 t20i innings and 18 wkts including a 4 fer against Eng in July, and a 3 fer against Pak in this tournament makes him one of the most utility players in the format. But he hasn’t been consistent with the bat and has struggled in the death overs.
Captain Picks
Batters – Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Jos Buttler
