Former India opener Aakash Chopra is known for having a very involved presence on social media. He is active on Twitter and has a successful YouTube channel, apart from his commentary stints.
When it comes to Indian cricket, his insights are valued by many. But, time and again, Aakash has to face trolling on social media over his career as a batter. This is due to his short India career where he played 10 Tests for India and scored 437 runs from 2003-04. He also played 7 IPL games, making 53 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2008 and 2009.
This had led to many Twitter users trying to use these stats against Aakash Chopra whenever they disagree with any of his views on cricket or his analysis.
Something similar happened when Chopra posted a small video of his analysis of the two ODIs between India and South Africa which was done in a lighter mood.
However, one disgruntled fan shared a screenshot of his Test and IPL career and posted: “Please explain your career too. What is this? How can you talk about cricket? When you are a failed cricketer.”
To this, Aakash Chopra had an extremely brutal rebuttal. While showing great self-respect and not going as low as that distractor, he gave a mouth-shutting reply to the troll.
Chopra tweeted: “I googled you...found no career in cricket or otherwise. Going by your logic, how can you talk about me?? When you a ________ person in life? On a serious note : get a life, my friend Love you "
Despite a short and uneventful international and IPL career, Aakash Chopra was a force in India domestic cricket. He played 266 FC matches, scoring 10839 runs with a best score of 309* and 27 centuries to his name. He also made 2415 runs in 65 List-A matches with 7 centuries with a best score of 130*.
