Former India pacer and 1983 World Cup winner Roger Binny is expected to become the next president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), succeeding Sourav Ganguly. Meanwhile, Jay Shah is expected to remain the secretary.
The 67-year-old has played 27 Tests (47 wickets) from 1979-87 and 72 ODIs (77 wickets) from 1980-87. His biggest hour of glory, of course, was the 1983 World Cup, when he took 18 wickets in 8 games at an average of 18.66, (best bowling 4-29) to emerge as the highest wicket-taker of the tournament and play a vital role in India's stunning triumph.
On the other hand, Arun Dhumal, who was the treasurer of the BCCI, is expected to become the new IPL chairman, with Ashish Shelar becoming the new BCCI treasurer. Binny and the rest of the finalized candidates for the office-bearers' posts filed their nominations on Tuesday.
Assam Cricket Association's Devajit Saikia is set to be the new joint secretary, coming in place of Jayesh George of Kerala. Rajiv Shukla is expected to remain the vice president of the BCCI.

Changes have to be made in IPL governing council as well, as outgoing chairman, Brijesh Patel, is no longer eligible because of the age cap for such positions due to the 70 years age limit. He will be 70 this November and cannot hold the position.
BJP’s Mumbai stalwart Ashish Shelar was tipped to make inroads in BCCI since the Supreme Court permitted MPs and MLAs to hold positions in the State and BCCI setups. Though he initially claimed to remain with the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and he even filed for nomination for the president post on Monday.
Now it has been reported that he is expected to take up a post in the BCCI.
Meanwhile, it was also reported that Sourav Ganguly was criticized for non-performance in the meeting that was held in Delhi and it remains to be seen whether he will be nominated to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
