Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan to lead Manipal Tigers and Bhilwara Kings respectively in Legends League Cricket

Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh and former all-rounder Irfan Pathan will be seen performing captain’s duty in the upcoming Legends League Cricket (LLC), starting from September 16 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

On Friday, September 2, Legends League Cricket (LLC) announced that Harbhajan and Irfan will lead Manipal Tigers and Bhilwara King, respectively, in the upcoming franchise tournament.

Raman Raheja, CEO and Co-Founder of LLC, said in a statement: With an incredible line of Captains in Harbhajan and Irfan and earlier we announced Gambhir and Virender Sehwag, every match that these Cricketers will step out to play will be a ‘paisa wasool matches, stay tuned as more interesting announcements are coming soon.”

Meanwhile, Harbhajan said in an official release: “Playing alongside all great players over the years, I have picked the nuances of the game which has made me a better cricketer. As a cricketer, I did not get an opportunity to captain the team but this will be something I am really looking forward to.”

Expressing delight at his appointment as Bhilwara Kings captain, Pathan said: “You need to enjoy what you are doing and giving 100% to that effort is all that matters. This opportunity is unique but I am confident we as a team will make some heads turn around. Watch out as we close on the team names for the draft.”

Notably, the upcoming edition of the Legends League Cricket (LLC) will be a four-team tournament and a 16-match affair, which will be hosted across six cities: Kolkata, Lucknow, New Delhi, Cuttack, and Jodhpur, with the venue for the final round not yet announced.

The four teams are the India Capitals, Bhilwara Kings, Manipal Tigers, and Gujarat Giants.
