WATCH - Kabul International Stadium gets stunned by bomb blast during Shpageeza Cricket League match

Shpageeza Cricket League, a domestic cricket tournament in Afghanistan, is taking place in the country. During the 22nd match of the competition between Band-e-Amir Dragons and Pamir Zalmi in Kabul, a horrifying incident took place that left all on the ground rushing. 

The match was jolted and marred by a bomb blast that took at the stone's throw distance from the stadium. The players were taken inside and rushed to the bunker. As per the reports, all the cricketers are safe and when the explosion happened, members of the United Nations were also present at the stadium.

The blast took place two days after an explosion near the gate of Gurdwara Karte Parwan in Kabul. But, in what has been a sigh of relief no major casualties were reported.

The videos of the incident went viral on the internet. Afghan journalist Abdulhaq Omeri shared one clip, in which people in the stands can be seen leaving the stadium. 

The journalist posted the video with the caption “Footage: There have been casualties in the blast at the Kabul international cricket stadium. #Afghanistan.” 

In another video posted on his Twitter account, smoke could be seen erupting from the stadium stands and the voices of people rushing can also be heard. 

“Footage:  An explosion occurred inside the #Kabul international cricket Ground during the Shepgize Cricket tournament .#Afghanistan,” He captioned the video. 

Notably, Shpageeza Cricket League was also marred with the same incident in 2017 when a massive explosion took place, which saw three persons killed and five injured near Kabul International Stadium.
