India pacer Navdeep Saini has been signed by Kent County cricket club for up to three County Championship and five Royal London Cup matches, subject to visa and regulatory approval.
Saini made his debut for India in a T20 international in August 2019 and has played in all three forms of the game for his country. He was part of India’s historic Brisbane Test victory against Australia in the 2020-21 series.
He has taken 148 first-class wickets at an average of 28.80 and is considered to be amongst the fastest bowlers India has produced and is the second Indian Test player to play for Kent after Rahul Dravid.

Saini played for India in the four-day first-class warm-up matches against Leicestershire last month but was not involved in the fifth Test against England at Edgbaston.
On joining Kent Cricket, Saini said: “It’s a great opportunity to play county cricket and I’m looking forward to giving my all for Kent.”
Kent’s Director of Cricket, Paul Downton, said: “In a year when it’s been difficult to take wickets, we’re excited to have the opportunity to add a fast bowler of Navdeep’s quality to our squad.’’
