India batter Suryakumar Yadav made an astonishing jump of 44 places to move into the top 5 of the ICC T20I batting rankings’ latest update on July 13, 2022, Wednesday.
This came after his superlative century against England in the third and final T20I which was played at Nottingham. He scored an amazing 117 runs with 14 fours and 6 sixes and almost took India to a victory chasing 216 to win the match.
Yadav only made his international debut for India at the start of last year but is already putting together an impressive resume as judged by his latest rankings rise.
In total, Yadav has four T20I half-centuries to his name in the last 16 months, with his brilliant 117 from just 55 balls against England catching the eye of his skipper.
Apart from Suryakumar, India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar also benefitted from his amazing performance against England.
He was adjudged Player of the Series against England, with his impressive haul of 3/15 in the second match helping the 32-year-old rise seven places to equal seventh on the rankings for bowlers. His India team-mate Harshal Patel jumped 10 spots to 23rd.
