Former England skipper Michael Vaughan feels that Virat Kohli needs three months away from cricket. He suggested the former Indian captain to sit on the beach and enjoy his time off.

A short break after the IPL didn’t do any good to Kohli as his poor form continued even in the rescheduled Test against England at Edgbaston. The right-hander struggled to score runs in both innings, managing only 11 and 20.

What has been concerning is that Kohli has been failing to convert his starts into big scores after doing all the hard work. He has not scored a century since 2019.

Many fans and pundits have raised concerns over his form and feel that his numbers in the last three years are not promising as per a player of his calibre.

Speaking to Cricbuzz, Micheal Vaughan suggested Kohli to take three months' sabbatical and enjoy his time on the beach.

"I look at Virat in particular. I knew he had a little bit of a rest at the end of the IPL. But he just looks to me like he needs a sabbatical. He looks like he needs three months away from cricket. Go and sit on a beach," Michael Vaughan said.

Vaughan also talked about India’s jam-packed schedule and said that in coming years it’ll be impossible for all format players to play all forms of the game.

“We will see more and more of this over the next few years. It is just impossible that all-format players will be able to play all three formats. The management of all these teams are going to have to be very clever in terms of giving them a breather," Vaughan said.

Virat Kohli has been named in the Indian squad for the last two T20Is against England. After that, he will also feature in the ODI series.
