After the tour of England, Team India will depart for West Indies for a white-ball series, comprising three ODIs and five T20Is.
While the ODIs will be held at Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad, the T20I series will take place across three different venues in Trinidad, St Kitts and Florida.
For the limited-overs series, scheduled to be played from July 22 to August 7, the Men in Blue are likely to rest a couple of regular members.
According to a Cricbuzz report, the announcement of squads was supposed to happen in the last few days but has been delayed as the national selectors have not yet finalised on the rest issue.
Travelling with the team in England, chief selector Chetan Sharma might have discussed the matter with players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant among others after the conclusion of the Edgbaston Test, which India lost by seven wickets.
The report also suggests that the selectors are unlikely to rest regular skipper Rohit Sharma, who skipped the five-T20I series against South Africa at home and also missed the Edgbaston Test after being tested positive for COVID-19.
Meanwhile, India’s white-ball squad except for skipper Rohit has reached Southampton for the first T20I, scheduled for Thursday (July 7). It is learnt that the Indian captain is still in Birmingham, having recovered from COVID-19.
After the Southampton T20I, India will return to Birmingham for the second T20I while they will travel to Nottingham for the third and final T20I.
The three-match ODI series will be held at The Oval, Lord’s and Old Trafford on July 12, July 14 and July 17 respectively.
