Bengal stalwart Manoj Tiwary slammed his second successive ton in the ongoing knockout phase of the Ranji Trophy 2022, in the semifinal match against Madhya Pradesh on Day 3 in Alur.
Madhya Pradesh won the toss and chose to bat first and put up 341 runs in the first innings. Himanshu Mantri made 165 and Akshat Raghuvanshi made 63 runs, while Mukesh Kumar took 4/66.
In reply, Bengal found themselves in a precarious position at 54/5 when Manoj Tiwary and Shahbaz Ahmed came together. The duo added 183 runs for the 6th wicket with Shahbaz Ahmed making 116 with 12 fours and the veteran cricketer and Bengal sports minister Tiwary making 102 with 12 fours as well.

The duo helped Bengal reach 273 runs. For Madhya Pradesh, Kumar Kartikeya, Saransh Jain, and Puneet Datey took three wickets each.
After completing his 29th first-class century, Tiwary displayed a note and expressed his love for his wife Susmita and his family for the support they had shown him.
