IRE v IND 2022: Laxman to be assisted by NCA coaches Bahutule and Kotak on India's tour of Ireland- Report

India to play two T20Is against Ireland in Malahide in June.

National Cricket Academy (NCA) coaches Sitanshu Kotak, Sairaj Bahutule, and Munish Bali will accompany NCA head VVS Laxman on India's upcoming tour of Ireland.

It is being reported that Kotak, Bahutule, and Bali will be part of the Indian cricket team’s support staff for the Ireland tour, starting on June 26.

India will play two T20Is on June 26 and 28 in Ireland, and for this short tour, Laxman will be donning a coach’s hat while his NCA coaches will assist him on the tour.

India head coach Rahul Dravid, along with his support staff, is set to reportedly depart for England with the Test squad later this week, and given that, the NCA trio have already joined the Indian squad, who are currently playing a five-match T20I series against South Africa at home.

A BCCI official told PTI: “After the senior support staff departs for the England tour, Bali, Bahutule, and Kotak will take over the duties for the remaining T20 against South Africa in Rajkot and Bengaluru. They have already been with the limited-overs squad for a while and by the time the senior support staff leaves for England, they will be ready for the task.”

Laxman has been already named India head coach for the Ireland tour, Kotak will be the batting coach, while Bali and Bahutule have been handed the fielding and bowling coach’s duties respectively.
