Former Indian skipper Mohammed Azharuddin came out in support of Virat Kohli ahead of India’s much-awaited tour of England. The legendary batter backed Kohli to make a sensational comeback in England.
India will play one Test, 3 ODIs, and 3 T20Is on the tour of England, and Kohli, along with other first-choice Test players, has been rested, before traveling to England for the much-awaited series.
Kohli failed to impress in the recently concluded IPL 2022. Although he did score two half-centuries in the 15th season of the league, which included his highest score of 73, but he also made three golden ducks.
Faf du Plessis was named the captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) after Kohli had stepped down from the position after IPL 2021 and many hoped, that free from the burden of responsibility, Kohli would find his form as a batter.

However, things did not go his way as he struggled to find form and had a forgetful stint with the bat for RCB in IPL 2022.
On the other hand, Mohammed Azharuddin backed Kohli to regain his form in England.
“When Kohli gets a 50, it seems he has failed, of course, he has not done much this year. Everybody, even the best, goes through a bad phase in their careers. Kohli has been playing a lot of cricket and now that he has got a little break, hopefully, he will come back to form in England.
There’s nothing wrong with Kohli’s technique, sometimes you need a bit of luck also. One big score or a century will bring the aggression back and he will be a different player,” Azhar told GulfNews.
Kohli will be part of the Indian team when they play the rescheduled 5th Test against England at Edgbaston in July.
