Australia Test captain Pat Cummins has shared his views on the similarities between the four world-class batters of today's era – Virat Kohli, Babar Azam, Joe Root, and Kane Williamson.
The speedster claimed that they are all very familiar with their style of play and can collect runs quite quickly.
He further opened up on why Kohli, Babar, Root, and Williamson are successful at the highest level, saying they are capable of capitalizing on the smallest of errors and leave no room for error.
Cummins said during an interaction with reporters ahead of the third and final Test against Pakistan: “All know their game incredibly well, they are never flustered, happy to bat long periods of time. If there is an opportunity, they get off the mark pretty quickly; start accumulating the runs really quickly. Unless you are right on the money from the first ball you feel like they are already into their innings.”
On being asked to compare Kohli and Babar, Cummins said: “They are both really complete batters no matter what format you play, they present their challenges. They are both really high quality (players), both have scored centuries against Australia over the years.”
Notably, the first two Tests of the three-match Test series between Pakistan and Australia ended in draws, and from March 21, both teams began the tussle to win the final Test in Lahore to clinch the series.
