India pacer Jasprit Bumrah has made significant gains in the ICC Test bowling rankings after his exploits in the recently concluded two-Test series against Sri Lanka at home.

Bumrah returned with 10 scalps in the series, including a five-wicket haul in the first innings of the pink-ball Test in Bangalore.

Thanks to his heroics, Bumrah jumped past Shaheen Afridi, Kyle Jamieson, Tim Southee, James Anderson, Neil Wagner and Josh Hazlewood in the Test rankings for bowlers to attain fourth position.

On the other hand, veteran batter Virat Kohli slipped to ninth spot in the Test rankings for batters released on Wednesday (March 16).  

Kohli registered scores of 45, 23 and 13 in the three innings that he played against Sri Lanka. As a result, the former India captain dropped four places but managed to remain inside the top-10 just ahead of Rishabh Pant who remained static at 10th.

Skipper Rohit Sharma managed to retain his sixth position and he is currently the best-placed Indian in the batting rankings.

Middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer was rewarded for his match-winning 92 and 67 in the second Test as he made giant strides, leapfrogging 40 slots to be on 37th position in the batting chart.

Sri Lanka skipper Dimuth Karunaratne moved up to a career-best No. 3 after his valiant 107 in the second innings in Bangalore.

In the all-rounders' table, West Indies' Jason Holder pipped Ravindra Jadeja to reclaim the top position. Jadeja had achieved No. 1 spot after his 175 not out and nine wickets in the Mohali Test earlier this month.

Ravichandran Ashwin, Shakib Al Hasan and Ben Stokes rounded off the top five in the all-rounders' list.
