KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal are great friends, it's no secret. The cricketers, who are from the same state of Karnataka, have opened many innings for their state and Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League.
Even when they're not on the field, the two have a strong bond. Whether it's light-hearted social media banter or enjoying each other's success, cricket fans rarely see such friendship.
Their bond is so strong that, despite competing for the same slot in Team India, their mutual adoration stays unaltered. When asked about their link, Mayank, 31, believes that their shared desire to see each other grow strengthens their bond.
“We share a great bond as friends. He's seen my journey and vice-versa. It's been really nice that we've had that kind of friendship, even though somewhere down the line, we probably competed for the same spot.”
“But I think the mindset has always been to help each other. To grow,” said Mayank about his friendship with Rahul on Backstage with Boria.
In describing Rahul's disposition, the 31-year-old describes him as a calm and serene individual who is always willing to assist.
“In terms to KL Rahul, he's been a very calm and composed character. He's somebody, who's definitely going to give you suggestions. He reads and understands the situation very well,” he concluded.
Mayank Agarwal had been named captain of the Punjab Kings after KL Rahul was hired as the skipper of one of the two new clubs in the tournament, the Lucknow Super Giants. The 2022 edition of the event kicks off on March 26 at Wankhede Stadium, with Chennai Super Kings taking on Kolkata Knight Riders.
