India thrashed Australia by 96 runs in the second semi-final of the ICC U-19 World Cup on Wednesday (February 2) to enter the final. The four-time winners entered their fourth successive final and eighth overall.
Indian captain Yash Dhull won the toss and elected to bat first at Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua. Openers Harnoor Singh (16) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (6) departed cheaply before vice-captain Shaik Rasheed (94) and Dhull (110) led the way and added 204 runs for the third wicket to set up a big score for the team.
Dinesh Bana (20*), Rajvardhan Hangargekar (13) and Nishant Sindhu (12*) finished off the innings as India set an imposing target of 291 for Australia. Jack Nisbet and William Salzmann took two wickets each.

Australia needed a strong start in the powerplay to challenge India which they didn't get, as the Dhull-led side put on a relentless bowling and fielding performance to bowl them out for 194 in 41.5 overs. Lachlan Shaw with 51 put up a fight but the Aussies failed to keep up with the required run-rate.
Vicky Ostwal took three wickets, while Ravi Kumar and Sindhu grabbed two wickets each as India booked their final's berth comfortably. Raghuvanshi and Kaushal Tambe chipped in with one wicket too.
India and England will now meet in the final on February 5 at Sir Viv Richards Stadium, North Sound, in Antigua. England had edged out Afghanistan in a tense semi-final by 15 runs.
