Following England’s poor show in the ongoing second Test of Ashes 2021-22, former skipper Michael Vaughan feels that Australia has all the bases covered and is a lot better than the visitors. 

After thumping England by 9 wickets in the first Test of the Ashes 2021-22 in Gabba, Australia is all over visitors in the second Test of the five-Test series. 

Batting first, after winning the toss, Australia posted a mammoth first innings total of 473 runs in Adelaide. They then came out all guns blazing with the ball and bundled out England for just 236 runs to take the first-innings lead of 237 runs.

After losing openers early, the duo of Dawid Malan and Joe Root tried their best to bail England out of the trouble but it wasn’t enough as the likes of Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon took seven wickets among them as the visitors lost their last eight wickets for just 86 runs. 

England’s poor show with the bat didn’t go well with many fans and pundits. They lashed out at the Joe Root-led side for losing wickets in clusters. 

Michael Vaughan also gave his views on the bandwagon. Taking to his official Twitter account, former English skipper called Australia better than the Joe Root-led side in Test cricket. 

“The honest facts are that Australia are a better cricket team in all facets of Test cricket .. No point in making excuses, the Aussies are just a lot better," Micheal Vaughan tweeted. 

Having taken a 237-run first-innings lead, Australia chose not to enforce the follow-on and are leading England by more than 400 runs.
