Afghanistan to host Netherlands in Qatar for 3 ODIs in January

The ODI series between Afghanistan and Netherlands will begin from 21st January.

Afghanistan cricket team is all set to host the Netherlands for a three-match ODI series in Qatar in January. The ODI series will also be the part of ICC ODI Super League.

The ODI series will begin from 21st January at Asian Town Cricket Stadium, Doha, Qatar. The second and third game is scheduled to be played on 23rd and 25th January at the same venue. 

Releasing the official statement, Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) confirmed the same. 

"The three ODIs which are scheduled to be held in late January, are part of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, which counts towards qualification for the ICC Men's CWC 2023," Afghanistan Cricket Board said in a statement.

Afghanistan is slated to play seven 3-match ODI series in the ongoing ICC ODI Super League to qualify for the ICC World Cup 2023 which will be played in India. So far, the Mohammad Nabi-led side has 30 points after whitewashing Ireland, earlier this year. 

They are also scheduled to host Australia and Pakistan later this year and will also travel to India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka in their three away series of the ICC ODI Super League.
