India great Sachin Tendulkar lauded Team India's newly appointed T20I captain Rohit Sharma for his ability to handle tough situations with a cool head. Rohit has always been acknowledged as a tactically sound captain, and Tendulkar also sees him as a 'smart cricketing brain'.
Rohit got to lead India in the three-match T20I series against New Zealand after the T20 World Cup 2021 and he succeded in whitewashing the Blackcaps. He has also captained Team India in the 2018 Asia Cup, and 2018 Nidahas Trophy wins earlier as a stand-in captain, in the absence of Virat Kohli.

“Whatever my interaction with Rohit has been, he has a very smart cricketing brain," Tendulkar told Hindustan Times. “He doesn’t panic. He is able to absorb pressure is what I saw. That is important when you are leading the side."
Rohit's captaincy got admirers after his leadership in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Tendulkar has observed him during his playing days with Mumbai Indians, as well as mentor of the franchise.
“There are multiple things that a captain has to take care of. If you are in a situation when the team is looking up to you, then it is important that the captain keeps his cool and does the job and that is what I have noticed in Rohit during the time we spent at Mumbai Indians," he said.
Rohit is the most successful captain in the IPL with 5 title wins. He has led Mumbai Indians to 75 wins in 129 matches, with 50 losses and 4 ties.
